A List of Some Dog Parks to Check out in the Lubbock Area

Today is National Love Your Pet Day (February 20th). Despite the current climate, our loveable pets have kept us upbeat and active their entire lives. And while a nice walk or a treat here or there is something we all do, the Lubbock, TX area has tons of dog parks to let them run and play. If you don’t have a yard for your dog or want to get them out more, Twisted Cycles has some great dog parks to check out year-round!

Hub City Unleashed

Located right in Clapp Park, Hub City Unleashed is one of the more popular dog parks in our area. It offers a 2.64 acre space divided between a small dog (under 30 lbs) and large dog (over 30 lbs) area. While it has dog-friendly fountains, be sure to bring your own water during the winter due to water shutoffs to prevent pipe freezing.

Private Dog Park

In West End, the Private Dog Park is another dog park to check out on the western side of Lubbock. Open every day from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, the park has two fenced-in areas – one with obstacles and another one open for fetch. It also has a walking path for more controlled exercise. Be sure to bring bags for pet refuse to keep this great park clean!

Mackenzie Dog Park

If you live in the northeast side of Lubbock, check out Mackenzie Dog Park for a clean and open area. Located west of Joyland Amusement Park, the park has plenty of paved walking spaces. Also nearby is the Canyon Run Dog Park, which is wheelchair accessible and has a wide open area for pets.
